Our Deputy Director Julia Ling-MacDonald is currently involved in a project, alongside Tasia Scrutton (Associate Professor at University of Leeds), about faith and hope in the face of systemic (ecological, social, political etc.) crisis.  

As part of that project, they have designed a survey which aims to inform research about the cultivation of active hope and the place of theological ideas in this, and to inform decisions about what resources it would be helpful offer or develop to support this.

The people they are currently inviting to fill in the survey are:

> Roman Catholics

> Based in England or Wales

> Engaged in ministry to adults through spiritual/faith formation and/or theological education

Examples of the kind of ministry they have in mind include (but are not limited to):

> Parish priest

> Deacon

> Parish Assistant

> RCIA team member

> Spiritual director

> Retreat giver

> Novice director

> Theological educator within a university, seminary or parishes

Start the Survey

The survey itself has taken testers about 25 minutes to complete. However, before the survey begins, they have necessarily had to include quite a lot of information about data storage and consent – for which they apologise but hope it doesn't stop anyone from getting on with the survey!  They also have indicated that if anyone meeting the criteria would like to participate in the survey, but can’t complete it in its current form (e.g. due to access issues or a disability), they are very open to hearing from them and will try to find a way for them to complete the survey by another means.

If you are not able to help due to not filling in the criteria above, you can still assist this project by forwarding this to someone who may fit the criteria.
