Look at the birds in the sky.
Matthew 6: 26
When you are out walking and something catches your attention, whether a leaf or a flower, the view ahead, or a creature such as a bee or a bird, stop still and pay attention to it for a minute or so.
Use whatever senses the object invites you to use: seeing, listening, touching, smelling, even tasting.
You may even wish to stay for three minutes or longer.
Try to let go of thinking or putting into words whenever tempted, and instead simply ‘be’ and stay present to the object which is catching your attention.
This object is a part of God’s creation. God loves it and delights in this relationship you have with it.
After a time of doing this, feel free to speak to God in whatever way you feel moved to.
It might simply be the phrase ‘Thank you.’
