This type of retreat invites you to clear space in your day for prayer. To make this a real retreat at home, we would suggest you dedicate 4-5 hours each day. Even if the retreat is online this might mean taking some time off work. Why? Because we know it can take some time for you to listen more closely to how God is speaking into your life. If this sounds a bit alarming, don’t worry! Our retreat guides are there to listen to you and guide you in the process.
Before the online retreat begins, we will match you with an experienced retreat guide who will arrange to meet you during the retreat once a day for 45 minutes at a mutually agreed time over video call. Your retreat guide will offer you scripture to pray with and prayer exercises, but most of all they will listen to you and help the retreat to go in the direction you – and God – need it to.
There will be an Opening and Closing Meeting with others on the retreat. Knowing that others are on a similar journey can be a great support and source of encouragement.
Opening meeting - 18th January at 6-7pm (GMT/UK time)
Closing Meeting - 22nd January 7-8pm (GMT/UK time)
I felt accepted and listened to. Our conversations led me to think about my relationship with God at a deeper level.
The retreat was very well organised but also very flexible. My guide for the week couldn’t have been more helpful. Talking to my guide helped me to be more aware of God’s loving presence.
The requested donation for this event is £140. This is what the Jesuit institute needs to cover our costs and to support our work of making Ignatian spirituality available to as many people as possible. However, if you are unable to donate this amount for any reason, please offer what you can (or even nothing at all!). All are most welcome to attend.
