Sarah Young - Jesuit Institute

An online retreat in daily life drawing on the Ignatian tradition for Christian Chaplains (voluntary or paid) who work in a variety of contexts: schools, hospitals, universities, and elsewhere. It will provide an opportunity for you to take stock of your ministry and to deepen and refresh your relationship with God.

It will provide an opportunity during the working week for you to step back and take a look at where God is at work in your life and your ministry. This online retreat, in the context of your daily life, will be at the service of your ministry and may bear fruit in the days and weeks that follow. As people who, in your own ministry, listen to others every day, we hope that this is also a chance for you to be listened to with care and attention and for you to find inspiration.

Dates:

Sunday 10th - Friday 15th May 2026

How it works

There will be an online Opening Meeting on Sunday 10th May 6-7pm. From Monday to Friday, one to one spiritual direction will be offered online at a time convenient to you. There will be a Closing Meeting on Fri 15th May 7-8pm. It is not essential to attend the Opening & Closing meetings if these timings do not work for you. You can still take part with individual spiritual direction during the week.

Feedback from previous partcipants

It was great to reflect on my everyday life with another, listening for where God was inviting me

The retreat nourished me and I have since found myself energised in my undertakings and more loving with loved ones.
